Seriously, take it! I’m giving you my heart…
In celebration of a fresh start, healing heart, 2 000 visits and National Woman’s Day I’ve decided to run another competition – and give one lucky reader a beautiful TW ‘African Experience’ heart pendant (entry details below).
TW Ceramics is the artistic work of Theresa Wormser, who lives and works in Kommetjie (over the cliff and past the lighthouse from my little village). How is this for uncanny: I met her yesterday, we got chatting and we realized Pa Nguni was her lecturer when she studied at Maties! What a small world. Thing about having a name like mine, it kinda sticks. That – and the jaw.
In another weird twist of fate, I became acquainted with her work at Villa Rose in Robertson – on my birthday while his royal high and mightiness, Duke D. Nile, on a 90 minute conference call in the loyal nursery left yours truly to go off in search of adventure alone. I fell in love with the beautiful heart pendants immediately and the lovely owner Laura told me their creator came from Kommetjie. Something stopped me buying one – most probably because I was heart-sore and don’t want a permanent reminder of that hanging around my neck.
Theresa started TW Ceramics to create jobs as well as an exclusive range of functional art – an upmarket, refined and stylish alternative to the famous (expensive, impractical and utterly over the top) Ardmore. Earthy textures and neutral tones compliment any interior and add a little African flair – I love the eccentric teapots – enough to turn any afternoon into a magical Madhatter’s Tea Party! Visit the site to view the range or call Theresa on 078 169 0338 to arrange to visit to the studio.
And now… drum roll please!
